Before Leicester City’s highly anticipated clash against Chelsea after the International break, we take a look at our outfit in terms of the injury updates.

The supporters are optimistic about picking up their form as soon as the missing links are incorporated back into the starting lineup for LCFC. Brendan Rodgers has been under a lot of scrutinies for the underwhelming performances of his side this season.

It is a bit unfair as although he should be criticized about matters like poor set-piece defending, there can be no debate that he has lacked proper players at his disposal. Significant first-team Foxes starters like Wesley Fofana and James Justin are yet to make a single appearance for the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Dealing with injuries has a lot of repercussions. The fragility in Leicester’s underbelly has been exposed time and time again on numerous occasions. Struggles have been visible in both the league and in European fixtures. A fan can now only hope that the players recovering under inspection bring some concrete solutions to the team’s problems.

Brendan Rodgers on Leicester City’s injured players

In the recent press conference, the manager addressed the developments with the recovering players. The questions were on the time frame for the respective returns of Wesley Fofana, James Justin, and Marc Albrighton.

"Fofana return?“I’m not sure of the exact date, but I was just watching him and he was moving really well with our sports science team. He’s building contact with the ball. He’s way ahead of where we thought he’d be. Initially, we were thinking January, and it still might be that, but he’s doing very well.”"

"Albrighton and Justin?“Marc’s been back training so that’s really good news. JJ has looked really good but it’s too early for him. We want to get him minutes with the U23s and we have a plan in place for that. He’s physically very strong, he’s a real athlete. We just want to make sure he’s ready before he comes in.”"

"Impact of Fofana and Justin?“They’re aggressive and strong. JJ can get forward and is great one on one. Wesley will be one of the best centre-halves in the world and he takes the team to another level.”Source: Leicester Mercury"

Foxes of Leicester would ordinarily give the east Midlands side a great chance of taking points from a team such as the Blues when they meet on Saturday.

However, the absence of the Belgium midfield man makes the prospect a much more daunting one; Tielemans has been influential for a long period and misses his first Premier League outing for almost two years.
