Injury updates on leicester’s Ricardo Pereira and Youri Tielemans
Foxes of Leicester detail injury updates on two Leicester City stars, Ricardo Pereira and Youri Tielemans.
Sadly FoL does not have good news for you again today, as manager Brendan Rodgers provided a fitness update on Ricardo and Tielemans prior to the Europa League fixture versus Legia Warsaw on Thursday:
"“Youri is still a little bit of time away, but he’s progressing well, [He’ll be back] maybe within the next couple of weeks.“Ricardo won’t be available. That hamstring [issue] is lingering a little bit, so he will be out for a few weeks also. We’ll just continue to monitor that, but otherwise the squad is the same.”Via lcfc.com"
Can Leicester City perform without the duo?
Essentially Leicester have been coping without their 2018/19 Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season since March 2020. That is about the time the Portuguese international suffered a cruciate ligament rupture which kept him sidelined for around 10 months.
And cope isn’t the best word to use, as many observers would pinpoint the time when Ricardo sustained his major problem as when a distinctively steady decline occurred at Leicester. You see, as the formerly mentioned accolades indicate, the defender was integral to the then flying Foxes.
Hopefully one day the former Porto man will reclaim his former form or top fitness levels in order to produce it – because he was absolutely superb then.
With regard to Tielemans, he needs no introduction, nor does his prowess require explanation. That being said, it is likely the east Midlands outfit will struggle to replicate the intricacies supplied and produced by the Belgian star. Bouba Soumare, James Maddison along with Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall will have to step up significantly in the ex-Monaco midfielder’s absence.
