Leicester City play Watford on Sunday as Claudio Ranieri is welcomed back to King Power Stadium. More importantly for the Foxes, how is Jonny Evans?

Brendan Rodgers conducted the traditional post-match roundup following his team’s defeat of Legia Warsaw on Thursday evening. That game was marred by crowd trouble emanating from the Polish end. Yet the Foxes managed to revert to winning ways.

James Maddison, Patson Daka and Wilfred Ndidi supplied the goals for LCFC on a night when they seemingly turned a corner after a very poor beginning this campaign.

Unfortunately defensive stalwart Jonny Evans was injured in the warmup to the contest; though after the game Brendan Rodgers suggested that his centre-back should be fit and available for Sunday’s encounter with Watford.

Evans has suffered with a foot problem for some time now, but luckily this issue is apparently a thigh strain or something unrelated, at least.

In addition to lineups, formations, systems and tactics, there is a moment of sentiment to speak about, as previously mentioned. Ranieri is one of the ultimate legends at Leicester City Football Club as the presiding Premier League-winning boss – and that is an indisputable fact among the Blue Army.

Contemporary Foxes gaffer, Rodgers, had this to say on the Italian:

"“As well as winning the Premier League, Claudio’s legacy will be the feeling that team gave supporters. Not just Leicester City supporters but fans around the world. It gave hope to people that anything was possible”Via Daily Mail"

Could Leicester City cope without Jonny Evans once again?

Foxes of Leicester recently asked this question about Youri Tielemans – the midfielder will be unavailable for a couple more weeks with an injury – and the answer is similar with regard to Evans. Basically it would drastically weaken the Leicester side if they lost the Northern Irishman once more. Coupling that with Tielemans’ loss might hypothetically cause disaster.
