Trusted Midlands reporter John Percy offers information on James Justin’s Leicester City comeback and an update on the defender’s contract negotiations.

Finally there is some encouraging news for the Foxes after a very trying period. At the moment Brendan Rodgers has absolutely zero senior centre-backs available for selection due to covid, but having key defender Justin back in contention soon is a major boost.

In addition to the former Luton Town man being nearly ready to feature in the XI is one thing – having him sign a new contract will be akin to acquiring a fresh player in January.

Premier League under fire for insisting Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur go ahead

Rodgers, the current LCFC gaffer, has questioned the English Top-Flight’s handling of the latest round of fixtures, due to the aforementioned pandemic crisis. A new variant named omicron has decimated EPL squads all over the land, with the league allowing Brentford and Manchester United to postpone their clash which was scheduled for Tuesday.

Division bosses refused requests from the east Midlands team and Spurs to cancel or rearrange the match between the two clubs on Thursday. Rodgers is upset that clarity has not been provided as to why the PL made the decision they did, and the disparity of United’s resolution.
