Injury expert Ben Dinnery has offered his opinion on Jonny Evans and it is not an optimistic prognosis for Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers.

An update for the Northern Irishman on his player and compatriot has consequently caused concern from former medical worker and data analyst Dinnery. Essentially the expert on athlete fitness suggested that the Fox may be “affected” for the remainder of the season as he didn’t have a traditional preseason or a chance to recover from an issue.

Basically Rodgers said Evans had now sustained a hamstring problem after he was withdrawn at the beginning of the Newcastle United clash recently. Though a few days later, the Leicester manager claimed the centre-back hadn’t suffered as bad an injury as it could have been.

Yet Dinnery believes Evans’ difficulties might continue throughout 2021/22:

"“He’s [Evans is] managing an ongoing issue with plantar fasciitis. That limited his game time massively towards the end of last season and heading into this season.“In terms of pre-season, the more sessions you get in the more robust you are for the season ahead.“Because it was heavily disrupted, it will have a knock-on effect for the rest of the season.“If you read between the lines, we’re maybe looking at high-end grade one injury. That would mean it’s a push to get Jonny Evans back before the end of this year, though you certainly can’t rule it out.“Maybe two or three weeks, which is really good news compared to what we thought it could have been.”Via Football Insider"

Will Leicester City’s Carabao Cup quarter-final versus Liverpool go ahead or be postponed?

City’s training ground once again reopened on Saturday after closing for a mini circuit-breaker this past Thursday. A covid outbreak involving the recent mega spread of omicron seems to be the reason; although an unnamed illness was also an apparent culprit for the decimation of the King Power squad.
