Rodgers confirms club’s transfer intentions – and fans won’t be pleased

The January transfer window is always tight for Leicester City. Many clubs spend money with urgent temptation that often turns out into a bust.
The manager confirms that the club will not be succumbing to the surmounting pressure. The Foxes will not end up committing towards any permanent solutions. The Northern Irishman believes that the depleted state of his squad is a temporary issue for which the best possible solution is a provisional one.
The most suitable options for Leicester City
Brendan Rodgers demands at least two fit centre-backs in this winter transfer market to have a fighting chance before his injured players make their respective returns. We have witnessed the outfit struggle against multiple injuries in their defensive setup.
Those occurrences have rattled the team by diminishing their potential massively this season.
"Q. Deal possible?“The players we will look at, January is a difficult market but certainly for centre-halves, it’s a key position for any team. In order to be consistent, your two centre-halves are critical for you. Our results have been inconsistent and we’ve had lots of changes in our defensive structure. There is time, but it’s more pressing for us. Sometimes you have to compromise to get the type for your team. But we know we get guys back at the beginning of February.”– Brendan Rodgers."
Many blame the manager for the incompetent nature of holding out, while a few sympathize with many misfortunes. There is no denying that ideally, Leicester should have no problems with Wesley Fofana, Çağlar Söyüncü, and Jonny Evans safeguarding the back.
But Fofana has been sidelined even before the Premier League season started. A recurring fracture made things worse by turning Evans into an unreliable asset. Söyüncü’s confidence has taken a hit. The Turk has been scattered all over the place without anyone to guide him.
"Q. Centre-back on loan?“It’s certainly something we need to look at. The players who have been filling in are away at AFCON, so it doesn’t give us a lot of cover. The club are working hard to see what we can do. There’s not an endless pot of money.” – Rodgers.Source: Leicester Mercury"
Rodgers tried his best to opt for makeshift tactics. However, now things have become far more challenging. With many players leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations, the clubs will miss some starters till the early weeks of February. It becomes a necessity for Rodgers to acquire one or two centrebacks to give the East Midlanders a fighting chance during this critical period.
The mindset behind looking at loan options gives the club a lot of advantage as they are not bound to stick with the acquisitions if they fail to deliver according to the general expectation. Spending money becomes vital for a side like the Foxes, who don’t have the liberty to try out a hit and trial.
