However, as we all know, this was not to be. A ridiculous and frankly idiotic pass from a misfiring Youri Tielemans led to a Spurs counter and Steven Bergwijn slotted his second in added time, the 90+7th minute, to snatch all three points. Cue disbelief, anger, and despair.

It was a reminder why football can be so brilliant and so heart-breaking and, for a neutral, it was utterly brilliant drama. For Leicester it was a lesson taught in the most painful of ways, that you can never be too careful, that you need to do the basics, that you have to win a game when you are only 8 seconds from the final whistle. It’s a lesson that you shouldn’t have to learn, but one that the Foxes put on themselves.

Now, contrary to what you may be thinking, this isn’t going to be 2000 words of me moaning or being heartbroken. Whilst the result still hurts, after a night’s sleep there are several positive aspects to pick out from the game. Afterall, we were winning until the very end.

This isn’t an attempt to look on the result with rose tinted glasses on, the end of the game was a true shambles and I’ll get into it, but there is – somehow – a fair few things to be cheerful about.

So, without further ado, here are the 3 things we learned from Leicester City 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur.
