Caglar Soyuncu – 3

The season from hell for Leicester City’s Turkish centre-back continues after another poor performance from a player who was once one of the most promising defenders in the league. Deployed in the middle of a back three consisting of himself, Vestergaard and Hamza Choudhury, it was expected that Soyuncu would play a key role in Leicester’s backline.

Soyuncu played a large role in all three goals for Spurs in a game that he will want to forget. The first goal saw him fail to catch Kane offside, before being easily beaten by the England international after tracking back in an effort to prevent the goal.

The second goal saw him fail to clear the ball as it ricocheted in the on the edge of the six-yard box before Bergwijn slotted it home. Then just a minute later Soyuncu was unable to prevent the Dutch winger from getting on the end of a through ball first which then resulted in the winner for Tottenham.

Hamza Choudhury – 6

A relatively quiet game for him as opposed to his two centre back partners. Choudhury was caught out a couple of times by attackers to no avail.

It was clear he was still adapting to the role as he was out of position on a couple of occasions, but in comparison to Soyuncu and Vestergaard he didn’t play terribly. There is definitely some promising signs from his performances in the backline and looks like he could establish himself as a key figure at the back going forward.
