Latest Leicester injury return dates and fitness news including Jamie Vardy
Foxes of Leicester detail the latest Leicester City injury return dates and fitness news ahead of the FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest.
With any luck, the fortnight break afforded to Premier League players will assist in the Leicester team making strides with regards to available personnel. For too long now, far too many injuries have plagued the Foxes and it has gone too far.
The club is supposedly investigating. Therefore, medical staff must ensure that they are performing perfectly, or surely risk being replaced by a new collective. It does feel as though there is something amiss at the club in that department, though obviously this is just supposition.
Meanwhile, there will hopefully be some comebacks to the LCFC side prior to the cup clash with Nottingham Forest. Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers gave updates on a few of his men recently, which FoL detail here:
"“The guys that are out are out for a period of weeks yet. Jonny Evans has had an operation. Vards [Vardy’s] still probably a number of weeks away. Ryan Bertrand has an operation on Tuesday on his knee that he twisted at Man City. Timothy Castagne probably has another seven or eight weeks.“So I don’t think there’s too many more to come back. Getting the boys back from the African Nations will be a good lift for us.”Leicester Mercury"
How are Nottingham Forest getting on in the Championship
Forest are not having too bad of a season – for once, in the modern era. They are currently eighth in the second English division, the Championship. Obviously there were glorious times for the Reds, specifically under the late, great Brian Clough. They lifted an English top league title and won the earlier edition of the Champions League (the European Cup) twice.
That unfathomable period with Clough at the helm was circa 1977 through to approximately 1980. Now things are very different for the Tricky Trees, as they have not made it back into the EPL for 23 years. The last venture being during the in 1998/99 campaign.
