It was evident from his games that he struggled to adjust his style to suit the English style of football. Feeling the pressure of expectations, he later admitted that he was still adjusting to his new life. Adding insult to injury, the striker missed a penalty kick in a decisive 4–3 defeat on penalties to Cardiff City in the Championship play-offs semi-final second leg on 12 May 2010. With everything at stake, Kermorgant went for a panenka. It was easily saved by Cardiff’s keeper, breaking the hearts of the Blue Army.

Having disappointed regularly, the club opted to loan him to Ligue 1 club AC Arles-Avignon for the rest of the 2010–11 season. Upon his return, the club told him to look for a new club. Kermorgant only featured in 20 games for the Foxes and found his name only once on the scoresheet during a 2–0 win over Middlesbrough. After leaving us, he found some redemption. Kermorgant was able to adjust better and show that he was a good player. He scored frequently and had a good spell at Charlton Athletic, Bournemouth, and Reading.

Filip Benkovic

The Croatian signed for the club in 2017 on a five-year deal for a fee in the region of £13m. He instantly was sent on a loan to Celtic for a season. He was impressive playing first-team football in Scotland. For his age, it looked like Leicester had once again cracked the code of unearthing young talents through their scouting network.
