Leicester set to announce star defender signed new contract
According to a report from a reliable Midlands journalist, Leicester City are set to announce that James Justin has signed a contract extension.
‘Like a new signing’, indeed. That is what jubilant Foxes will be chanting from the rooftops when Justin re-signs his existing deal. In all seriousness, this update is better than the prospect of completing transfers for most of the players Leicester have been linked with in the past six months.
And I should know: I’ve had to rake through them all this morning for your reading pleasure. You’re welcome! Again, joking aside, there were some good options mentioned over the course of the season. Along with the usual ridiculous gossip and ones that rather stretch the imagination.
Though it appears the east Midlands club will not make any additions, significant or otherwise, to their roster in January. While this is a bit of a shame for the fans as a centre-back was required and desired, funds are minimal.
Not to mention that according to LCFC manager Brendan Rodgers, the selection of available defenders to acquire on loan was insufficient. In fact, employing sledgehammer tact for the Blue Army, the Northern Irishman claimed that the outfit wouldn’t sign someone just to do so; any new face must fit the team and suit requirements.
Yet, the announcement of an extended contract for Justin is almost as much as the support could wish for at present. I’m not even going to refer to Youri Tielemans’ status.
Reliable reporter John Percy broke the news of the fullback’s imminent agreement:
