Italian giants join chase for Leicester star as Foxes target teen sensation
Italian giants Juventus have apparently joined the chase to sign Leicester City star Youri Tielemans. Meanwhile, the Foxes are targeting teen sensation Noah Mbamba.
While Tielemans enters his prime and will want to obviously play at the highest level, as he has suggested, Mbamba is just beginning to make his name in the footballing sphere. Both have a connection with Leicester, tenuous or otherwise, as Foxes of Leicester will now explain.
Without a doubt, the former Monaco man will be remembered as one of LCFC’s best ever midfielders. One who has a place as a club legend due to his goalscoring heroics in the east Midlanders’ maiden FA Cup triumph. Sadly this could well be his final season with the Foxes.
With a contract almost into the final year, King Power team bosses may decide to sell Tielemans this summer in order to obtain a fee for him. If LCFC do not negotiate a transfer, there is a chance the player would leave for no fee. Another scenario, and one which would delight the Blue Army, is that he remains at Leicester after signing a new contract. I’ll keep dreaming.
Superpowers such as Real Madrid and now Juventus are said to be eyeing the Belgium star, as per Leicester Mercury. A claim that shall worry the Foxes faithful.
Leicester City tracking teenage starlet
Way before we get there, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed the club will make investment by refreshing the squad this coming summer. In part, this comment was done to appease supporters unhappy with no January additions.
If it is an innocent insight from the Northern Irishman, the statement is also conciliate to Foxes fans. We all know the budget on Filbert Way cannot complete with the Premier League elite.
Someone who may be signed is 17 year old Noah Mbamba of Club Brugge. Despite his young age, he is now a first team starter with 21 outings overall this campaign. Mbamba is versatile, being able to play as a centre-back or in the middle of the pitch. Like fellow defensive-minded athlete Wilfred Ndidi, the Belgian began his senior career with Genk.
