What happened to the teenage Leicester fan who punched Forest players
This is what happened to the teenage Leicester City fan who attacked Nottingham Forest players during the FA Cup derby on Sunday.
Before we begin, Foxes of Leicester wants to condemn the action of a minority of the faithful prior to and during the defeat to Forest. The world needs level heads and a bit more compassion at present.
On their way to the City Ground, some so-called supporters of the King Power outfit vandalised a pub in Nottingham centre. This was described as a ‘scary’ incident by one patron, who said many families and children were eating and enjoying themselves inside the venue as thugs bombarded. Following the final whistle more trouble also apparently occurred.
During the match, as the Tricky Trees scored their third goal through Joe Worrall, a 19 year old Leicester ‘supporter’ ran onto the pitch and assaulted three separate players from the opposing team. The accused appeared to punch at least one of the Reds, and has subsequently been banned from all home and away LCFC fixtures.
"Cameron Toner, 19, has been charged with three counts of common assault and going onto a playing area at a football match.Toner, who is from Leicester, has been released on conditional bail, including a ban on attending any live football matches. He is due to appear before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on February 24.The Sun"
Leicester City’s next match versus Liverpool in the Premier League
The mighty Merseyside team – no offence intended to Everton – welcome the Leicestershire side to Anfield on Thursday evening. Mo Salah is expected to play some part in the game; meanwhile Sadio Mane is a doubt following his Senegal triumph at the African Cup of Nations.
Let’s be honest, the Blue Army assume the Egyptian will start the contest and likely score. Salah was held expertly by Luke Thomas in the clubs’ first top-flight meeting this season. This time it will again be particularly interesting to witness the tussle. After a demoralising FA Cup loss and other supposed indiscretions, Brendan Rodgers’ men must at least produce a convincing display.
