Fabrizio Romano claims Leicester interested in Croatia international

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Leicester City are interested in Josip Juranovic from Celtic.

Romano has earnt a reputation of being the go-to source for transfer rumours over the last few years and has now linked LCFC with the Croatian defender. Juranovic joined the Scottish giants in the summer from Legia Warsaw, and has impressed in his short time there.

The 26-year-old has proven to be a versatile defender, being able to play at both right and left back. Juranovic has been a revelation under Ange Postecoglou, he is dangerous in attack, often making numerous attacking runs forward through a game, and in his 26 games for Celtic he has scored four goals.

The Croatian international has also been solid defensively, being a part of the Celtic side that have been trailing for a total of one minute in all competitions since their loss to Leverkusen in November. Romano has also stated that Leicester City are not the only club keeping an eye on the defender, with his performances earning the attention of multiple clubs.

With the January transfer window closed, Brendan Rodgers will have to wait until the end of the season to sign the player if the east Midlands side’s interest continues. Rodgers has stated that there will be an overhaul of the players at the club at the end of this season, following a humiliating 4-1 loss to local rivals Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

Leicester now turn their attention to Liverpool, who they will face in their next Premier League game. The trip to Anfield will be crucial for Rodgers, who has come under increased scrutiny over the last month. With the Foxes dwindling in 10th in the league, and now out of all cup competitions except for the UEFA Conference League.
