Kolo Toure’s son and Yaya’s nephew Yassine offered Leicester deal
Leicester City have a decent academy, and have added to the crop of talent in recent years. One player is Yassine Toure, here is what you should know.
Harvey Barnes, Ben Chilwell, Hamza Choudhury, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Luke Thomas, Gary Lineker, Emile Heskey, and that list goes on. Players who have come through the King Power academy to play at the highest levels of football.
Coming through the academy now are the likes of Will Alves, the Pennant brothers, Ben Nelson, and Shane Flynn. Plus the plethora of talent piling up around them from other clubs, with players like Tawanda Maswanhise, Wanya Marcal-Madivadua, and Ben Grist joining the ranks.
So, do be in the Foxes academy is a privilege for many and a pathway for Premier League football should the opportunity present itself to the hardworking player. Sometimes though, players follow in the footsteps of their famous parents.
Leicester City’s Toure
For the King Power club, Kolo Toure has been working with Brendan Rodgers for a long time, and joined the Northern Irishman in a coaching transfer to Leicester. Here, he has been integral in coaching the players and improving younger talent.
However, another Toure is making his way through the ranks of the academy. As reported by LeicestershireLive, Yassine Toure – Kolo’s son – has been offered a two-year scholarship deal with the academy after impressing coaches.
Do not expect to see the player for a long while, there is still quite a lot of development to do obviously and plenty of signings lurking for long term alternatives. Nevertheless, it is incredibly interesting to watch the rise of another Toure, but this time in the Foxes’ ranks.
The U18 player is yet to make a debut for the side, but you can sense it is coming. He is a right-footed attacking midfielder and wide player, so is a versatile attacking talent for the Leicester academy help develop.
The wide player is already a technically gifted talent, which lends himself quite nicely to working alongside the equally technical Alves. I could see the two of them coming up through the ranks in-tandem which the opportunity for Yassine Toure to play regularly presents itself.
Regardless of what happens with first team coach Rodgers and the Ivorian, the deal means Yassine is now a Fox for a short while, though he might choose to follow his father should any early move occur for the coach.
