Leicester City chairman Top Srivaddhanaprabha has backed Brendan Rodgers to succeed once again with the Foxes, in spite of a particularly underwhelming campaign.

Prior to defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester were victorious in their Uefa Europa Conference League first leg meeting with Danish outfit Randers. While the Horses don’t pose much threat to LCFC – or should not, anyway – the Foxes produced a fine performance and 4-1 result to all but decide the tie.

Nevertheless, Rodgers does remain under pressure, at least from fans and the bookies if not the Leicester ownership. There was a much-criticised report last week claiming that the Northern Irishman might be fired from his position if the King Power side lost to Midlands rivals Wolves on Sunday.

It appears that outcome did not bring the suggested eventuality; Rodgers remains in the managerial role on Filbert Way at the time of writing.

Furthermore, before the WWFC contest, Khun Top made a statement in the Randers programme declaring his support for the LCFC gaffer. It feels as though the hierarchy legitimately backs Rodgers, although this is technically the dreaded ‘public vote of confidence’:

"“…I’ve seen first-hand the work being undertaken by Brendan, the staff and players to rediscover the team’s best form.“For as long as we [The King Power International Group] have been with the club, in difficult moments, it’s always been our fight and togetherness that has brought us through and I sense that fight in this group.”– Top Srivaddhanaprabha, Leicester Mercury"

Additionally, trustworthy journalist John Percy tweeted this on Monday:

Leicester City’s fixture list is rapid, relentless and resolute

The challenging situation for Rodgers and his team far from settles at this point – the season’s stern upcoming test actually intensifies. These are the Foxes’ subsequent Premier League games, disregarding the almost foregone conclusion of Randers in the UECL: Burnley, Leeds United, Arsenal, Brentford and Manchester United.

Clearly obtaining maximum points there,  or even two or three wins, will be difficult judging by Leicester’s contemporary form. There is also the possibility of the postponed Chelsea clash being rearranged amongst those matches. Let’s hope for LCFC’s and Rodgers’ sake that March witnesses an improvement in results.
