Kasper Schmeichel was unsighted for both which may explain the slow reaction, but the King Power outfit defenders were doing nothing to throw their bodies on the line. You can play well, but if your finishing lacks finesse and your defence aren’t blocking shots then losing games will be inevitable.

European qualification won’t be coming from the league position

Leicester’s best hope of European qualification is now surely the Europa Conference league with the assumed qualifiable place to be 6th now 15 points ahead of the foxes and disappearing quickly with every poor result. Danish side Randers will be put to bed on Thursday in the second leg (surely??) and it will be on to the next round. But with the form the way it is at the moment are any LCFC fans confident of playing any teams of higher quality in the later rounds?

Add this to the alarming tradition of Brendan Rodgers last two seasons’ frightening drop-off in form that has led to them sliding out of seemingly nailed-on Champions League places. There will be no such European problems this season, but with Leicester City nine points off the relegation places as things stand they will want to get to that 40 point mark sooner rather than later to avoid an unthinkable and disastrous end to a poor season.
