There is some potentially significant Leicester City news on the horizon, as the Foxes are set to open contract talks with Nigerian star Wilfred Ndidi.

Is rewarding midfield linchpin and defensive-minded stalwart, Ndidi a necessity on Filbert Way? Absolutely it is. And don’t let anyone tell you differently. When fit, the 25-year-old is effectively undroppable at Leicester; not to mention being in and around the apex of top European footballers with regards to statistics.

There is also an element to Ndidi’s character which is vital to LCFC: he is an affable, likeable guy. And as such, the former Genk man is needed for squad balance. That is not to say the jovial midfielder is unfocused, no. Astoundingly, the millionaire athlete is studying for a degree in business. How grounded is that!?

Leicester City’s Randers win and next Uefa Europa Conference League opponent

Thanks to an opener from the King Power team’s most high profile academy graduate of the moment, Harvey Barnes, Leicester were on course for a decent margin of victory. The England international gave the Foxes the lead with a well-placed, neat finish past the Randers goalkeeper.

James Maddison was next on the scoresheet via a delightful free-kick which curled into the top corner. Maddison added to his tally with a similarly angled shot, but on this occasion the goal was from open play. These couple of excellent individual scenarios highlight how the LCFC attack should revolve around the nucleus of ‘Madders’.
