A centre-back and a winger could well be part of the Leicester City overhaul touted for the upcoming summer transfer window when the Foxes freshen up the squad.

A refresh has been confirmed by Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers ahead of the end of the season. There is no doubt that a few players will be sold. Additionally, and arguably more importantly for the future, some incoming talent will materialise.

Naturally, supposed targets are rumoured in the press; some talk is more believable than other speculation. Nevertheless, Foxes of Leicester provides continuous reaction and opinions for every and all connections – true or otherwise.

The two latest LCFC links that FoL has managed to round-up and offer views on concern Josh Bowler and Cameron Carter-Vickers. Firstly, Bowler is a wingman at Blackpool in the Championship. Secondly, Carter-Vickers is a centre-half who is on loan at Celtic from Tottenham Hotspur.

This season the 22 year old Bowler has impressed with the Seasiders; his eye for a key pass sets him apart from some widemen, in our assessment. Though his eight goal contributions in 34 2021/22 outings wouldn’t be enough to worry Harvey Barnes or, with any luck, Ademola Lookman.

"Leicester City have joined Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth in the race to sign in-form winger Josh Bowler, TEAMtalk understands"

Previously, FoL would not have been bowled over by the prospect of signing the Spurs man. Yet he looks much improved in the Scottish Premiership; though comparably there is a clear difference in standard with the lower English divisions the 24-year-old has appeared in. Which possibly explains the status jump.

"TEAMtalk has also learned, though, that the Glasgow giants will face summer competition from five Premier League clubs for the defender. Leicester, West Ham, Wolves, Burnley and Watford are monitoring Carter-Vickers’ progress"

Next Leicester City match predictably tough

Burnley away is a perpetual challenge; especially potent in inclement weather. I suppose Turf Moor is the new bet365 Stadium, with regard to ‘can he/they do it at Stoke City on a rainy Tuesday evening?’. Well, the east Midlands side next travel to Lancashire on that exact day of the week.

In what is sure to be a testing match, Brendan Rodgers’ team must show more intensity, team unity and strength to overcome the Clarets. Although the Foxes found the net on seven occasions versus Randers of Denmark over two legs, many adjudged Leicester’s Uefa Europa Conference League displays as decidedly uninspiring.
