Foxes of Leicester explains how Leicester City Football Club has set the standard which newly minted superclub Newcastle United seek to emulate.

When, or if, Newcastle United finally lift the Premier League trophy one day in the near future, it won’t replicate Leicester‘s achievement from 2016. There aren’t many stories within the realm of possibility that could rival the Foxes’ incomprehensible triumph from that fabled season.

Yet Newcastle can start their own legacy as a majorly significant club. And as a team who, to be fair, have the devoted fan base whom deserve success as much as any. That is if anything tangible can be gauged merely by a passionate faithful.

A more clear area in which the Magpies hierarchy seek to imitate LCFC, or mimic their conquests, is in prudent and sensible structure of business. For example, spending unlimited funds is apparently not NUFC’s preferred route to ascendancy. The North East outfit would rather use a strong foundation and investment into an elite and sustainable future, as did the Leicester ownership.

Brendan Rodgers lauds Jamie Vardy’s Leicester City performance

As I am sure readers will be aware, the East Midlands side defeated Burnley 2-0 on Tuesday evening at Turf Moor. This was the King Power side’s maiden Premier League victory of 2022. And that fact is as disappointing as it is now encouraging.

Supersub double act Jamie Vardy and James Maddison did the damage against the Clarets as the game expired. Brendan Rodgers was praised for his astute substitutions, which is rather rare these days.

Vardy was involved in both goals, winning praise from his manager in the process. The Northern Irishman noted the former England international’s keen spirt and desire to return earlier than expected to help him teammates. Along with mentioning the inspiration Vardy is to the squad at large.
