It appears that Leicester City’s injury crisis is not easing regardless of reports, as eight senior players are still sidelined.

Despite it seeming as though issues amongst sidelined squad members might be starting to ease, along with Wesley Fofana’s incredible impact upon return, the Foxes remain without a lot of crucial personnel. Meanwhile, understudies are also unfit.

The missing group currently consists of: Jonny Evans, Jamie Vardy, Danny Ward, Ryan Bertrand, Boubakary Soumare, Patson Daka, Wilfred Ndidi and Marc Albrighton. And, as you can see for yourself, the majority of the collective – except for Bertrand, Soumare and Ward – are arguably first team starters on their day.

Below is a tweet from BBC Radio Leicester Sport presenter Owynn Palmer-Atkin which details the absences of Soumare, Daka and Soyuncu. Neither of the trio featured versus Stade Rennais on Thursday. Though Soyuncu and Timothy Castagne are now in contention for Brendan Rodgers.

Elsewhere, Vardy has a knee problem and will apparently be unavailable for a few more weeks. Bertrand and Ward also have injuries in the same area, but could make comebacks before the season ends.

While Evans may be ready at the beginning of April. Unfortunately Ndidi and Albrighton have been added to the injury list: the Englishman limped off with a groin problem and must be assessed; and the Nigeria international damaged his medial ligament so could be out for just under a month.

Leicester City discover UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final opponent

Leicester defeated Rennes 3-2 on aggregate over two legs in the UECL Round of 16. Wesley Fofana made a timely return; scoring from a set-piece and simultaneously solidifying the defence in similar scenarios.

In the quarter-finals, the East Midlands outfit will meet PSV Eindhoven; the ties take place on April 7 and 14. Should the Foxes get past PSV, Bodo/Glimt or Roma await LCFC; again, there are two fixtures in the semi-finals as well.
