Unfortunately Leicester City have received a particularly major injury blow, as vital player Wilfred Ndidi is all but ruled out for the rest of the season.

Clearly reports of the supposed relaxing of Leicester’s fitness crisis were absolutely inaccurate and wishful, because the Foxes have sustained yet another significant blow. Currently there are nearly ten senior players absent from playing duties; the majority of which are crucial or important to the team.

Manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed the awful news to media after the clash with the London outfit. Below is a quote from the ex-Liverpool boss, which details the Nigeria international:

"“Wilf (Ndidi) is not so good. We’re just waiting for a second opinion on that but whether he’ll play for the rest of the season, I’m not sure. It’s a real shame for us.”Leicester Mercury"

Ndidi’s importance was immeasurable up until very recently: thankfully Papy Mendy’s N’golo Kante-esque displays in the past were no fluke. The Senegalese will be able to fill his Nigerian teammates rather large and Premier League-proven boots.

Of course a man like the former Genk midfielder is impossible to replace, with his exceptional statistics for tackling and defending. My thoughts are merely that Mendy is on the verge of being the ideal understudy, and is underrated.

Brendan Rodgers’ thoughts on Leicester City’s 2-1 win versus Brentford

Two ‘worldies’ – via Timo Castagne and James Maddison – won the East Midlands club the match against the Bees Sunday afternoon. Leicester controlled the encounter, as FoL viewed it. Therefore conceding due to a lack of focus is unnerving. When there is a higher calibre opponent, expiring contests will obviously be more testing. Invariably the LCFC side should have managed the game more expertly from the position they were in.

However, following the final whistle Rodgers was very pleased, partly because his men had a tough fixture in France earlier in the week. In addition, the Northern Irishman said Leicester were good first half; yet tired and became complacent in the second. Furthermore, he claims two elements could improve: finishing, along with ensuring a comfortable ending.
