Wilfred Ndidi and his tackles/interceptions are a good example, as the Nigerian isn’t “Premier League standard” for his possession-based qualities nor his creativity, but his defensive attributes are one of the best in the world.

With Dewsbury-Hall, it’s a widespread collection of attributes that make him a desirable asset. Often the player instigating the Leicester City high press, tirelessly ensuring the progression of the ball centrally, for the opponents, is difficult. He’s intricate when on the ball, recycles possession very efficiently, and has an eye for a vertical pass. Then you get to his ball-carrying, supplemented by his tireless mentality, and he’s willing to overlap the left winger (Harvey Barnes) with high frequency for a central player.

Topping it all off, the game against Crystal Palace showcased that he’s got an end product as well, although most Foxes fans would’ve suggested he’s highlighted a proficiency in this area already. I don’t think goals and assists truly outline the qualities of a player, but when you add the underlying numbers of his other attributes together with an eye for assists/goals, you can clearly see the ceiling for Dewsbury-Hall is very high. Don’t let the “late emergence” (as a 23-year-old) dictate the perception of his qualities — he’s going to be an England international, I’m sure of it.
