Foxes of Leicester noticed a Brendan Rodgers quote that really needs explaining, once again. The manager of Leicester City suggests that this inconsistent season could eventually be one his best as a manager.

So, FoL are not trying to sensationalise Rodgers’ remark at all. Nor are we attempting to be selective or paraphrase, exactly. We merely want to mention the magnitude of what this rather peculiar and overall disappointing domestic campaign could morph into.

And the still realistic outcome of this term being great in the history of the East Midlands club may be realised. Only if the remaining targets are accomplished. Those aims are: finish 10th in the Premier League, as well as progress to the Europa Conference League final. In my opinion, only winning the UECL trophy would mean a momentous achievement. That guarantees Europe in 2022/23.

Though I do understand ‘BR’s’ point following the injuries incurred. When asked about targets for the 2021/22 run-in, the former Liverpool gaffer said this:

dark. Next. Schmeichel is main player needing replacing in XI

"“If we finish top 10 and get to a final of European competition, it would be one of my best seasons as a manager. Given the injuries and our budget and what we’ve come up against, that would be really good.”Leicester Mercury"

What a thrill and a significant boost it was for the Foxes to have talismanic striker and the club’s biggest icon of all-time back on the field, Jamie Vardy. Unfortunately, the former England hitman did not manage to get on the scoresheet. Though Vardy naturally only made a substitute appearance in the drab and boring 0-0 draw with the Villans due to injury.

On the subject of the No.9 returning to King Power Stadium, Rodgers acknowledged how much it reinforcement confidence among the LCFC squad. Additionally, the Northern Irish gaffer explained how they missed Vardy, but how he is available in a crucial period: the final EPL outings and, more vitally, for the Roma ties. Rodgers also noted his attacker’s positive aura.
