Midfielders galore

In the extremely probable event where the Belgian world-class midfielder is no longer a Leicester player, Brendan Rodgers will want to bring in fresh talent. We have already seen plenty of links, but there are at least three more.

The Foxes are rivalling Premier League top six club Tottenham Hotspur for the free signing of Christian Eriksen. The current Brentford FC playmaker continues to impress and has returned to the league where he has performed so well so many times. Neither club have submitted contract offers.

After knocking PSV Eindhoven out of the Conference League, the team are looking at signing Ibrahim Sangaré from the brilliant Dutch side. The midfielder is consistent, his passing is sound, and he can run. The rumour is a £30m move for the player.

One intriguing story is that of Manchester United playmaker Jesse Lingard. The English international is figured to plug the gap should English star James Maddison also depart. I feel this will not happen, but should it do, Lingard is a good option for Leicester City.

Lingard could be available for a free and allowed to leave the Reds in search of first team football. His quality in undeniable, but his record has been slightly eroded by another season in the periphery of one of the largest football institutions on the planet.
