Leicester begin transfer talks with Championship ace’s representatives
Leicester City have had transfer talks with the representatives of Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson. The forward is a hot commodity at the moment.
Brendan Rodgers will be looking for fresh attacking talent in the wake of his squad overhaul planned for the summer window. With Noni Madueke also featuring on our list, there are some great players linked.
One such star is Johnson. The versatile forward has made a name for himself at Forest, and is truly a brilliant talent. Brentford are said to be leading the race to sign the Welsh international, with the King Power club and Newcastle also in talks.
Leicester City’s new RW?
We know the Foxes need a right-winger, a prolific player of that. They must be a forward that can be versatile, score goals, create chances for others, and of course provide that flair to excite supporters and strike fear into defenders. Madueke and Johnson can do that.
Here is a spotlight of what the 20 year old Wales forward brings to the table: 15 goals and 10 assists in the Championship this season, playing as a striker, right-winger, or left-winger, and he even puts in impassioned tackles every fixture. Prolific is certainly a moniker you can attribute to the star.
Creativity is possibly his other startling attribute. The player goes everywhere on the pitch, ripping defences apart to construct space for teammates and himself. Unfortunately, Leicester were on the receiving end of one of his better performances during the FA Cup match.
With only a year left on his contract after the window, Forest may choose to cash in on their star now should they not go up. Johnson would likely sign a new deal should they achieve promotion and will leave if they do not. The price could be anywhere between £15-25m depending on whether they are promoted or not.
