Leicester City came back from being behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Italian opponents Roma in their vital Europa Conference League first semifinal leg.

The Foxes have fully turned their attention to the European competitions now. Some might say that it is a wise approach as that route the only way the club can get into Europe next season. City currently sit 10th in the Premier League table. They are only a point behind Newcastle United; but having played two games less LCFC probably will finish in the top half. Surely after finishing twice in the best five this shall be looked at as an underachievement.

However, Brendan Rodgers’ team still have a lot to play for: they have already become the first side in the history of the club to reach the semifinals of a European tournament. It would be amazing if the East Midlands team can go a step further.

There has been positive news in the injury department as many players returned. That includes star striker Jamie Vardy, following his knee problem. Although, yesterday there were concerns when Timothy Castagne was substituted early in the first half following a head clash.

This was surely a measure of concern because the Belgian International had suffered a horrific orbital injury during the Euros last summer. The previous mentioned issue also led to his absence for the earlier part of the domestic season. When the Belgian made a comeback, he used face protection for quite a time.

Brendan Rodgers was questioned about the early substitution in his post-match interview and said this:

"“He [Castagne] had a head clash and his history, when he fractured his skull… He tried to play on, he gave it 10 minutes, but he just didn’t feel quite right. We made the change and JJ came in and was great.”Reported by Leicester Mercury."

The 26 year old fullback was lucky to escape a life threatening problem during international duties. It was said during that time that had the impact been few centimeters higher he would have suffered neurological complications. Henceforth, keeping in mind his previous medical history, yesterday’s incident was of utmost concern. Thankfully, the gaffer told press in his pre-match interview before the match against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League that the former Atalanta man is fit to play Spurs at the weekend.
