Midfielders and attackers

Papy Mendy: 5/10- His terrible backpass gave Harry Kane a chance to make it 2-0 in the first half, but he was bailed out by Schmeichel. Otherwise, Mendy was alright, keeping the ball and recycling under pressure as he usually does. One thing that is apparent in games like these is his lack of presence compared to a player like Wilfried Ndidi.

Boubakary Soumare: 6/10- Some real moments of positivity from the Frenchman who was given a rare start after injury. We saw what he can do with his driving runs and good link-up play. Nevertheless, he often took too long in possession which is an issue he needs to improve on.

Ayoze Perez: 6/10 (8/10 for first half, 4/10 for 2nd)- An excellent performance from the Spaniard in the first half which was tarnished by an anonymous one in the 2nd. Perez worked hard in defence whilst also finding good positions and linking the forward play well. It is such a shame he disappeared into obscurity after half-time.

Patson Daka: 6/10- Similarly to Perez, Daka was much better in the first half than in the second. He held the ball up well whilst also looking more dangerous in the final third, hitting the post with a low effort. Went missing in the 2nd half, like most of City’s attackers.

Kelechi Iheanacho: 6/10- A largely poor performance from Iheanacho who was too sluggish with his off the ball movement and first touch. Even so, he was the one to eventually score the goal at the end, a brilliant finish to give a small modicum of positivity.

Leicester City Substitutes:

Jamie Vardy: 6/10- Didn’t do a whole lot apart from one glancing header, but his presence was a positive influence for Leicester. Hopefully, this appearance gives him much needed minutes for Thursday.

Lewis Brunt: 6/10- Acquitted himself reasonably well with the game and didn’t do anything wrong, completing 100% of an albeit small sample size of passes.

Youri Tielemans: 5/10- The game was done by the time the Belgian came on and he was slow to close down Son for Tottenham’s third. Got the assist for Iheanacho’s goal with a nice ball through the lines although the Nigerian still had a lot to do.
