Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says booing from Foxes fans was warranted. The displeasure emerged as the East Midlands side lost to Everton in the Premier League at King Power Stadium last weekend.

Losing to a relegation-threatened side when their team has recently been eliminated from a European semifinal, is a tough one to take. Consequently Leicester fans were understandably upset by efforts and some peculiar tactics, once again.

On this occasion, home spectators booed either the performance or Rodgers, or both, at the final whistle. Afterwards the Carnlough-born coach had his say on the matter.

Above is a tweet from football writer Daniel Orme which contains a quote from the Northern Irishman. While it is good to see the former Liverpool gaffer verifying the Blue Army’s annoyance – the faithful do not need Rodgers’ blessing in order to frustrate irritations as paying supporters of the club. In fact, as Claude Puel learned, if the atmosphere turns fully toxic at KPS, a position as LCFC manager will cease.

Topics Brendan Rodgers spoke about during Leicester City press conference

Rodgers talked about several issues and facets of Foxes play and the club in general, this Tuesday. The ex-Swansea boss was asked what is needed from his team to be impressive, take points and climb the English top-flight table as the campaign expires. ‘BR’ claims that he and his staff are attempting to instil a “winning mentality” within the squad.

Rodgers is adamant about finishing as high as possible – possibly because 14th place is unacceptable on Filbert Way these days – through desire and intensity. Additionally, the boss did not allow himself to be drawn into a debate about transfers.
