Leicester City are set to face relegated Watford in a Premier League fixture they should win. Here are three reasons why the Foxes will beat the Hornets.

There is no hiding from the poor season the King Power club have had. From an injury catastrophe to failed tactics and just a plain lack of luck. Everything has conspired against the East Midlands’ best club. Nevertheless, Brendan Rodgers’ side should still be expected to defeat lower table opposition. This is particularly the case when considering our next opponent has already been relegated.

On form, the Hornets have now won in any of their last seven matches, losing all but one. Their last win was a lucky 1-2 victory over Southampton. Leicester have also been poor, in our last seven we have won two, drawn two, and lost three. Without further ado, here are the reasons we will win.

Leicester City are back firing

This may seem a little premature – and it is – but Rodgers’ team have slowly but surely been improving their game. These have been miniscule developments: more possession here or there and better understanding of the role of each player.

These mild improvements culminated in a much needed 3-0 domination of Norwich City which saw the Foxes successfully defend a corner. It also saw the team successfully create chances against a team which sat back and defender really well. This has been missing for too long.

On top of that, the ‘blue and white’ talisman Jamie Vardy has gotten back onto the score sheet. With two goals against the Canaries, Rodgers actually had a system and tactical style which got Vardy involved and helped to create space in which Harvey Barnes and James Maddison could create.

Something which could have impacted this is chronology. That is, we are marching ever closer to the summer refresh. As the Northern Irish head coach has said, there will be a clear out and player must prove themselves. So, we should see an improvement in play and passion over the next couple of games.

It is worth noting the Foxes are 13th in the league when measured on expected goals, where Watford are still 19th. Clearly, we can out create them. We just need that luck and system to create good chances.
