A point to prove

Normally I would use statistics and verifiable statistics to prove points. For this point, there will be no stats or facts. Just passion and pride. That is what Leicester are playing for in this fixture, pride.

For the whole of this season, the gaffer has put out either fine or ill-conceived line-ups which did not really inspire confidence in the team. Nevertheless, against lower league opposition, any team which includes Youri Tielemans, ‘Madders’, Caglar Soyuncu, etc. should be enough to win.

Those teams should have won. They might not have lacked passion, but they certainly lacked a creativity or inspiration to do something different when their tactics were not helping them. The desire was not there to take responsibility and make the right choices in the final third.

This has been our downfall against the Everton, Newcastle, or even the Aston Villa of the Premier League. The Foxes would occasionally see Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall trying something special, but that is one player who still needs to learn a calmer head instead of wildly shooting from far out.

After beating Norwich, there is a point to be proven that Leicester can consistently create, challenge, and be inspired in their play. There is pride at stake. Our progression as a team should lead us to win again, to beat lower league opposition and either keep our place in the table or progress slightly upwards.
