England’s latest star James Justin attempts to help his Leicester City teammates get back into Gareth Southgate’s squad once more. These remarks follow past, and well-deserved, debuts for Harvey Barnes and James Maddison respectively. Yet the latter Foxes duo have fallen out of favour with the Three Lions manager. In one instance seemingly fairly – and another rather unfairly.

Luton Town’s onetime standout performer is enjoying a raid rise with positive career trajectory. After taking a short while to settle in on Filbert Way and allowing nerves to dissipate, Justin subsequently became an outstanding asset of LCFC.

Many Leicester fans began to name the pacy, adaptable defender – predominantly a fullback but he can be used as a right or left centreback, as well as a wingback on either side – as their favourite Fox. Meanwhile, Southgate and his staff’s heads collectively turned as the 24-year-old sped up and down Premier League pitches.

Regrettably for the Blue Army, King Power team manager Brendan Rodgers and the Three Lions boss, ‘JJ’ was badly injured around the time of the previous description, ending his dreams of being involved in Euro2020. Whilst not back to his best yet, Southgate still gave the player his debut in the loss versus Hungary.

Sadly the Harry Kane-captained side lost 1-0 in the Nations League Group match. Moreover, the Leicester man again suffered another issue, this time on account of his calf. Happily, JJ should be fit enough to feature for his country again toward the end of the month.

There is so much news around occasionally something gets away from us. A few days ago Justin was quoted by talkSPORT, having kindly given advice to Maddison on getting back into Southgate’s plans:

"“I’ve spoken to him at length, he knows he has to keep doing his thing.”“He has to do something special to get into the squad because the players in his position have had good seasons.”"

Furthermore, JJ spoke about Barnes and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall with care:

"“They (Dewsbury-Hall, Maddison, and Barnes) know what they have to do to get in the squad. You have to do something special because in different positions, there’s different categories you need to tick and have to do that at the start of next season to give themselves a chance for the World Cup.”"
