Ever since Riyad Mahrez left the club in 2018, Leicester City has been searching for his replacement – a difficult job considering just how magical Mahrez was for Leicester and continues to be for Man City.

Rachid Ghezzal, Cengiz Under and Ayoze Perez have all tried to fill the gap that the Algerian left, but none have proven to be the answer. Ademola Lookman was hoped to fill that void last season, however he found that his best football came from playing on the left.

This summer the Foxes are looking to finally end their four-year search, with Brendan Rodgers prioritising his transfer business towards a man for the right flank alongside a new centre back and a central midfielder. Whilst many fans have speculated that the club may look outside of the Premier League – links to Noni Madueke and Domenico Berardi come to mind – recent reports suggest that a talented Premier League player may be available.

The Guardian are reporting that West Ham are open to offers for their own Algerian playmaker, Said Benrahma, as they aim to raise funds to strengthen the team ahead of another year of European football. Alongside this, David Moyes feels that, if the club can secure the signing of Jesse Lingard, Benrahma will be surplus to requirements, with the club preferring to secure a fee for the 26-year-old rather than him sitting on the bench and reducing his value.
