With a season like no other on the horizon, the East Midlanders will have a scheduled break between the dates of 12th November and 26th December in order to accommodate for the winter World Cup hosted in Qatar. Of course, there is a lot of football to be played between now and the middle of November but considering that LCFC have many seasoned internationals in their ranks already -Kasper Schmeichel and Timothy Castagne, just to name a few. It is very likely that not dissimilar to the African Cup of Nations, we see an obvious hangover from players that compete in the World Cup with this game being just the second game played for City after the restart.

It also opens up those individuals to greater risks of injuries, as it will add more high intense games in extreme heat to their season. This will increase fatigue and reduce recovery time, this is of course a worry for a side who was decimated by injuries in consecutive seasons.
