The Tamworth-born man was key member of the title-winning squad and exhibited his skill set almost every week. Throughout that unlikely and famous success, Albrighton’s almost telepathic link-up with Jamie Vardy, often demonstrated by that trademark high ball from the left-hand touchline for the Foxes’ speed man to chase down the channels, was an example of the technical prowess he possesses.

Not only that, but the system deployed by Claudio Ranieri meant that Albrighton was perfectly in tune with Christian Fuchs and N’Golo Kante, with the triangles the trio could play out of defence being a key component of the counterattacks the Foxes utilised so ruthlessly and efficiently.

Away from the class of 2016, Albrighton has been there for many of the key moments, as Leicester City established itself among the respected group of Premier League regulars. It only took five seasons (maximum!) for the East Midlands outfit to be taken away from the relegation conversation at the start of each season, a progression many promoted clubs would snap their hands off for.

A key part of that were appearances in Europe: Albrighton was at the centre of the club’s most famous European night. Remember him lashing home what proved to be the winner as the Foxes incredibly progressed to the Champions League quarter-finals?
