A fresh report claims Leicester City are confident of securing the marquee signing of Charles De Ketelaere, despite interest from other clubs.

Foxes fans are understandably becoming increasingly worried about the state of affairs at LCFC. Absolutely none of the unwanted and unneeded – and frankly poor performers – have been offloaded from the Leicester ranks this summer.

In addition and more concerning is the fact that the King Power outfit have spent no money on acquiring much-needed specialists. The last fact applies even though manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that at least four or five signings are needed and expected.

Obviously there is a while remaining in the window – but direct rival Premier League teams are making decisive moves already. Sluggishness won’t help the Foxes become a part of the soon-to-be EPL big seven. Indecision or bad decisions shall see Leicester slide further down the English top-flight table, unfortunately.

Raising funds is said to be a requirement on Filbert Way and there are plenty of fringe squad members who can be sold. Accepting lower bids and forgoing tough negotiating is arguably necessary at present. However, it isn’t all doom and gloom on the Leicestershire front. If speculation is accurate, supporters may be in for a significant treat.

FanSided affiliates 90min suggest the East Midlands side are “confident” of signing Club Brugge and Belgium international star Charles De Ketelaere during the current transfer window. De Ketelaere has been monitored by LCFC scouts for some time, so they are prepared to pay the €40million asking price.

This update comes in spite of apparent “strong interest” elsewhere. Italian juggernaut AC Milan are interested, along with 2021/22 strugglers Leeds United.
