Tielemans’ best period seemed to be before Christmas where he was turning in fantastic displays against the likes of Manchester United. A spectacular volley at Brentford was one for the memories as was another man of the match display at home to Newcastle United where he bagged a brace and ran the show.

The new year didn’t go so well though with Youri’s tendency for mistakes growing larger. He produced a horrific pass at home to Spurs that led to a winning goal which must surely go down as one of the most shameful matches to ever throw away. A couple of weeks later he played his own part in an embarrassment at the City Ground that will be hard for City fans to forgive.

The performances continued to drop down away from the standard that everyone at the club has become accustomed to. This finally culminated in a shoddy showing against Everton at home with all the miskicks, slips and misplaced passes you would expect from an inexperienced player.

Now the offseason is here and his future is the talk of much speculation, it seems very likely that we have seen the last of him in a Leicester shirt. He will leave as a legend with that winning FA Cup goal in our hearts. But it does stick in the throat somewhat that a player of such high standards finished the season meekly and will likely terrorise Leicester in an opposing shirt come the 2022/2023 season.
