As breakthrough seasons go, this was something to behold from the Shepshed boy. Last season I was getting regular updates from a good friend who supports Luton Town about how good this player was. But even I was surprised to see him take such a leap forward in his football career and grab his opportunity of first-team football so easily. He had been given time in the EFL cup and the Europa League before November rolled around where he was afforded more Premier League game time from the bench.

The key in his season was the moment when he was substituted on at Southampton for Boubakary Soumare at half-time. He changed the game by getting on the ball and moving into dangerous areas of the pitch to create chances and space for his teammates. From there he started the next game at Aston Villa and the following game he scored his first goal for the club at Napoli.
