Leicester City – AKA ‘Interested FC’ – are said to be targeting Swansea midfielder Flynn Downes. Here is all you need to know and FoL’s opinion.

The promised squad rebuild has not happened. Instead, the King Power club have struggled to sell deadwood, make space in the squad, and not actually needed to sell Youri Tielemans. Had the Belgian left, things would have certainly turned out differently.

In our warped reality, Leicester have signed no one and sold no one. Additionally, they have released several players making no extra space in the squad. Our universe is the sinister version at the moment.

Nevertheless, this has not stopped the Foxes being linked to myriad talents. From centre-backs to right-wingers, there has been plenty of speculative rumours. Mostly, these are to exciting players.

Leicester City linked to breakout star

Brendan Rodgers side are supposedly targeting Downes. The English midfielder is a breakout star for Swansea City and is just 23 years old. Rising through the ranks at Ipswich Town, he has been on loan at Luton Town before making his transfer to the Welsh side.

It is worth noting the player is also heavily sought after by Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Both clubs offer a better chance at first team football in the near future than the Foxes.
