These four Leicester players are apparently up for sale
Here are four Leicester City players who are apparently up for sale, according to a combination of reports. Foxes of Leicester detail the unwanted men.
Only one senior Fox has left Filbert Way this summer, Eldin Jakupovic. Moreover, no signings have been made, worryingly. Leicester cannot afford to lose ground on teams such as West Ham United and Newcastle United.
Obviously Newcastle will be on a similarly insurmountable level to Manchester City soon. But threats like Wolverhampton Wanderers aren’t going away, possibly even Everton if they get their act together.
There have been suggestions that the East Midlanders must sell to buy. Attempts to offloads some of the mediocre fringe athletes and unnecessary squad fillers are proving difficult due to overpaid wages.
Nevertheless, one report claims four Foxes could be sold prior to the 2022/23 season beginning: Caglar Soyuncu, Ayoze Perez, Hamza Choudhury and Jannik Vestergaard. Now, I would advocate obtaining a decent fee for Soyuncu. Acquiring Perez was a mistake to begin with. Though Choudhury is one who may be retained again. And don’t get me started on Vestergaard.
Leicester City’s second preseason friendly
Making out that Leicester’s loss to non-league Notts County in the initial practice match of the offseason at the Seagrave training complex is a bit of a stretch. In fact, the assertion is harsh and just plain wrong.
Brendan Rodgers was without many of his crucial first team stars, used many very promising up-and-coming young Foxes. Along with the Northern Irishman deploying two separate XIs for either half. So the result was almost entirely inconsequential. What did matter was assessing bright starlets – which was achieved.
The negative point which people should focus on is the uninterrupted failure to deal with set-pieces. Yet another corner was conceded, as well as a winner for Notts via a header from a lofted free-kick. Clearly all Foxes personnel struggle with the defensive system here, and Rodgers must change his approach for the Premier League campaign.
Next up for the East Midlands on the preseason schedule is LCFC sister club, OH Leuven. The non-competitive game will be played at King Power at Den Dreef Stadion on Saturday, July 16. Kickoff is 13:00pm BST.
