Why James Justin is so crucial to the Leicester City team

James Justin is a 24-year-old left-back who was born in Luton, England. Justin would then sign a youth deal with his local club, Luton Town, at just seven years old. He would make his first senior appearance with the team at just 17 years old.

More impressively, he was getting consistent playing at the age of 18. Justin played there until the summer of 2019, when he was then bought by the East Midlands outfit for £6 million; a Luton Town record fee.

Since then, he’s played three seasons with the foxes where he’s made 68 appearances; 61 being in the starting eleven. Justin has unfortunately been hit with the injury bug since his time at Leicester City.

A cruciate ligament rupture in the winter of 2021 kept him out until the winter of 2022, causing him to miss 49 games. Despite the injury problems, James Justin is a crucial player for LCFC. Why is James Justin so crucial to Leicester?

He plays a part everywhere on the pitch. Justin is what your modern-day full-back is. Not only can he defend, but he can contribute to the attack as well. And, at just 24 years old, he still has time to develop and get even better. On the defensive end, he’s able to mark wingers coming his way. He’s got a knack for being able to get to the ball with tackles and his speed helps him keep up with anyone.

On the attacking side, his speed helps him join the counterattack. Justin gets wide on the left wing and is able to cross the ball into the box. This makes him a perfect duo with Harvey Barnes. Barnes likes to cut into the box and deliver a shot on goal. Justin being able to get up wide so quickly is crucial to the foxes’ attack. Even if Barnes is staying out wide to cross the ball in, Justin is still able to find the open space and get his way into the box.

When Justin is on the pitch, the Foxes are playing better as a team. Justin is just able to provide so much, yet he is still growing. There is no doubt why he is so crucial to the City side.
