Brendan Rodgers has tried plenty of formations for Leicester City, with a team yet to be refreshed, here is how we should line up in the 2022/23 season.

A lot has changed since the first Rodgers’ side. On the 26th of February 2019 Leicester City appointed the Northern Irishman who would watch his side from the stands. Though he did not select the team, the Foxes did win 2-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion.

As such, we are going to look through what the King Power’s past can tell us about what is coming, and why Leicester should return to Rodgers’ favoured formation.

Brendan Rodgers’ first Leicester City side

His first team selection was against Watford 03/03/19. A back three of Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, and Wes Morgan. Ricardo Pereira and Ben Chilwell as wingbacks. A midfield of Youri Tielemans, James Maddison, and Harvey Barnes. Of course, Jamie Vardy led the line.

This formation would immediately change and become settled in the next fixture. A familiar 4-3-3 with Wilfred Ndidi as a holding midfielder, the ‘Starman’ working to progress the ball, and ‘Madders’ there to create everything.
