Leicester City are scheduled to play a pre-season friendly against OH Leuven in a 120 minute clash at Den Dreef Stadion.

The Foxes are nearing the start of a new season. In the first match of the pre-season, Brendan Rodgers’ team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Notts County at Seagrave Training Ground. The vibe around LCFC is not particularly filled with optimism right now. The main reason for that is the lack of transfer activity at the club.

The gaffer openly talked about the term ‘rebuilding the squad’ at the end of last season. But, there have been no transfers to justify that intent. Now, the team travels to play their sister club OH Leven in their second pre friendly game in Belgium. The match will actually be a duration of 120 minutes so that almost every player gets to showcase themselves.

With several players returning late because of the International break, many first-team players didn’t feature in the first off-season clash. However, with almost everyone returned now, the manager is expected to give minutes to everyone in the upcoming practice match.

In the goal, Daniel Iversen and Kasper Schmeichel – presuming his peculiar extra time off is complete – may both get sixty minutes each. While, at the centreback position Wesley Fofana, Ben Nelson, Jonny Evans and Jannik Vestergaard could be expected to start in separate halves.

All the first-team fullbacks are back and surely will be utilized in the friendly. Kelechi Iheanacho, Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka are all expected to play at some point in the match. Our eyes should be particularly focused on the Zambian international this term, as many analysts and football pundits think 2022/23 might be the breakthrough season for him.

James Maddison, Wilfred Ndidi, Boubakary Soumare and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have all travelled, along with possible leaver Youri Tielemans. There is a lot of speculation regarding the future of Belgian – but for now he remains a Fox.
