Important Leicester star injured and misses friendly match
An important Leicester City star is injured once again. And, consequently, Wilfred Ndidi shall miss the friendly match versus OH Leuven in Belgium.
At the time of writing, Leicester are prepared for a meet up with their sister club, OHL. The First Division A side have been owned by The King Power International Group since 2017. That is the Thai ‘travel retail group’, based in Bangkok, of which the chairman is Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha. Of course, Srivaddhanaprabha is the main main at LCFC, as well.
The elongated fixture is being shown for live at LCFC.com, along with Leicester City Football Club’s YouTube channel and is free to watch. In order to offer more playing time and increase match fitness, two halves of 45 minutes and then subsequently an additional 30 minutes will be played in Leuven. This bring the outing to 120 minutes, an odd number in footy unless there is extra time.
One player who won’t be competing in the European heat this weekend is Wilfred Ndidi. Sadly Ndidi sustained a twisted ankle whilst with teammates during the preseason training camp in Evian.
Unfortunately for City supporters who were relishing watching their awesome defensive midfielder, it seems his comeback is now derailed. However, luckily the issue is not thought to be too bad. Jordan Blackwell of Leicester Mercury suggests the Nigeria international might perhaps return to training next week.
A March knee operation saw Ndidi miss the remainder of the Premier League campaign. He only featured in 19 EPL clashes in 2021/22, negatively impacting the LCFC team massively.
The next Leicester City practice game
Following the Belgian clash with a familiar friend, Leicester return to Hull City for the sure-to-be prestigious, inaugural Corendon Cup contest. In all seriousness, The tie is on Wednesday 20th July, with kick-off at 7:45pm.
A trophy presentation is scheduled to take place after the final whistle. This is thanks to sponsor Corendon Airlines, a Turkish company which is represented on the front of Hull’s shirts.
