Leicester City are interested in an international and Premier League winger, but there’s a catch over expensive Arsenal £72million flop Nicolas Pepe.

I’m not going to use the word replacing Riyad Mahrez anymore. I have come to the conclusion that he is, in fact, irreplaceable. I am sure some of you will agree and be influenced by my point. Meanwhile other, more passionate Blue Army members might be thinking ‘it took him too long to realise’.

I’m sure the right winger with a delicate and deadly left-foot will emerge on Filbert Way at some stage. Brendan Rodgers appears to favour the inverted wideman who is able to cut in on a stronger foot.

Hot. Why LCFC shouldn’t sign transfer target Edin Dzeko. light

Some of the links and actual successors have been downright ridiculous, as well as incapable. I would advocate bringing in Ademola Lookman; yet he prefers being deployed on the left, leaving a Harvey Barnes conundrum. If Lookman is acquired, he may well be a particularly adept supersub for the East Midlanders.

However, a surprising name is now connected with a move to Leicester, Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe. Obviously his move from LOSC Lille to the Gunners will possibly be remembered as one of the worst in the North Londoners’ history. Certainly the signing is the most costly with the least in return.

Though, at a very low price, the Ivory Coast international could be a shock success somewhere, as I see it. His clear talent – visible through rare and limited glimpses of expert finishing and mesmerising skill at Emirates Stadium – was the reason Arsenal originally bought him. Sometimes it just doesn’t translate in the ultra-testing Premier League. Although I don’t expect anything to transpire following Ekrem Konur’s speculation regarding LCFC.

OH Leuven entertained Leicester in a practice game on Saturday afternoon. And the Belgian team really gave their closely linked outfit a fine battle. OHL are the King Power sister club.

A peculiar but fitness boosting 120 minute contest ended all square at 3-3. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Patson Daka and Jamie Vardy were all on the scoresheet. The subsequent Foxes friendly is the ‘inaugural Corendon Cup’ clash with Hull City at MKM Stadium on Wednesday, July 20. That fixture has a 7:45pm Kick-off.
