James Maddison might be adept at playing on the left flank, but if the manager wishes to build the team around him, then the No. 10 position is surely where the England international will stay. Marc Albrighton has been known to play on either wing but is no longer a guaranteed starter. And Harvey Barnes is seldom seen on the right-hand side, instead being deployed on the left touchline. The Monaco winger is competent coming off either flank (albeit traditionally used from the left) and has also featured in the hole in behind the striker during his time in Ligue 1.

Good defensive work ethic

Brendan Rodgers has always been a systems manager. From his time at Swansea City when he brought a refreshing possession-based approach with his newly promoted Premier League side, it has been clear that the Northern Irishman wants his players to be drilled and disciplined in their approach.

Six wingers or attacking midfielders have either departed the club or had their loans not made permanent since his arrival at the King Power. That fact is testament to the standards expected of these roles when it comes to tracking back.
