3 players who will define Leicester City’s 2022/23 season

How many times have we seen the wideman take the wrong option of dribbling it past the wingback? Especially when other options are available for him to pass and lose his marker? This season is a test for Barnes.
He cannot be complacent to cancel out precious chances for his team in the final third. He is an asset to the whole team. His individual output is often the deciding factor between a three-point or one.
He needs to put in the extra work at Seagrave if he really wants to stay ahead as the first-choice left winger. Singing Ademola Lookman can pose a direct threat to Barnes’ untouchable status. The right-wing has remained a vulnerability, so the left wing can’t continue to be the same. Now let’s delve a bit into the aforementioned point regarding the lack of threat within City’s right flank.
Ricardo Pereira- Rodgers has often exploited the option of using the right-back Ricardo Pereira in a much-advanced role, unlike the seasons before his unfortunate injury.
We know that the cruciate ligament rupture reduced the Portuguese’s daily output. It’s not easy to bounce back to your best after such a setback, but Pereira has shown he is motivated.
This season can be a turning point for the 28-year-old to regain his old status, as the responsibility of such an advanced role can help him to build back his diminished portfolio.
He should only focus on two things primarily, the first is a given of tracking back during oppositional counters, and the second is to establish a reliable connection with whoever Rodgers puts at the right wing.
We have noticed the compatibility between Barnes and Dewsbury-Hall was not ideal in the initial stages of their business relationship on the left.
Thus, a clear understanding of partnership in what your counterpart will do would jointly impact the team’s and Pereira’s individual performance.
