Evans is another who has been plagued by injuries in recent campaigns. Ensuring he is match fit and raring to go when the season comes around is essential for LCFC. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will surely be involved, with Rodgers showing last season that he didn’t want to rest the midfielder, but this time Soumare might make way for Nampalys Mendy who is yet to be involved from the outset of a pre-season fixture.

Another player yet to start is Marc Albrighton, but the feeling is that the Foxes veteran is going to require pre-season minutes at some point. Albrighton’s fitness levels and relentless attitude might be better suited to the hotter temperatures the players will experience on Wednesday evening.

Patson Daka netted last time out, and it seems the Zambian is the man his manager is favouring at this point ahead of Kelechi Iheanacho. He’s likely to retain his place ahead of the Nigerian and will be hoping that 2022/23 can be the breakout campaign that proves he can be the natural heir to Jamie Vardy’s Leicester throne.

Transfers. Leicester City player is not in Brendan Rodgers' plans. light

Predicted starting eleven: Iversen, Ricardo, Evans, Fofana, Justin, Mendy, Dewsbury-Hall, Maddison, Albrighton, Daka, Barnes.
