Dennis Praet – 7

Praet showed some signs of quality throughout the first half but also lacked the ability to break through the defence. He linked up well with Thomas on the left and made a couple of promising runs, but he wasn’t clinical when he had the ball in the final third, whether it be taking an extra touch or making the wrong pass.

Youri Tielemans – 8

A strong performance from the captain in the first half. He was everywhere and made some exquisite passes to create opportunities in attack. The Belgian midfielder made a promising run early in the game and could easily have been awarded a penalty.

This performance was a vast improvement on the form Tielemans showed at Leicester City at the end of last season.

Ayoze Perez – 7

Much like Praet, Ayoze Perez showed some promising signs when he was on the ball and made some solid passes to Patson Daka. However, he also didn’t seem to threaten Hull’s defence much and would have wanted to have a far greater impact on the game. Perez didn’t seem to have the ability to create something out of nothing like James Maddison can in the number 10 role.
