Youri Tielemans has subtly indicated that he will remain at Leicester City for at least the 2022/23 Season. Two Premier League clubs are apparently very interested in acquiring the talented midfielder who seems to be in absolute limbo.

Literally nobody knows what is going to transpire in the former AS Monaco man’s career subsequent to the 2021/22 season. Certain Foxes fans are becoming increasingly upset with the scenario, the player receives a little criticism on social media as he might perhaps be angling to leave for free next summer.

You see, the Belgian’s Leicester contract expires in 2023, and he has refused a new deal with the King Power club. In addition, the major outfits supposedly interested appear to have other priorities. Or those potential suitors were deterred by a mediocre term, compared to a typically high standard.

However, there may now be some clarity as the athlete breaks his silence. On Instagram, the 25-year-old posted a collection of Leicester training photos and used the caption “preparing (for) the new season”. This is a subtle indication that Tielemans has possibly decided to stay, though certainly not confirmation. Arsenal and Manchester United both remain constantly linked with respective interests.

Simultaneous Leicester City matches up next

Following the three warmup games already played versus Notts County, OH Leuven and most recently Hull City, the East Midlands side now face double contests. Derby County and Preston North End await on the same day. Yep, we know that sounds strange. But allow FoL to explain, because obviously LCFC cannot be in two places at once. Or can they?

It is becoming a tradition for Leicester to play a couple of friendlies on one specific day during the offseason. Basically the squad splits into two, with one half slightly stronger. The assistant manager to Brendan Rodgers, Chris Davies, shall probably handle the lesser team while his superior supervises more of the star players.

The clashes both take place on Saturday, July 23. First of all, the friendly derby against Derby – that’s a mouthful – kicks off at 1pm. The reserve and backup personnel are likely to be involved in that fixture because the Rams reside in League One. Meanwhile Championship outfit Preston could see Jamie Vardy, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and company arrive for a 3pm start.
